What ist Neuromodulation?
Neuromodulation is a modern medical approach that specifically influences neural networks in the brain – through stimulation, inhibition, or synchronization of particular brain regions. The goal is to promote the brain's natural neuroplasticity: its ability to regenerate and rewire itself.
The method is based on more than 30 years of university neurophysiology research. SOZO founder Sir Petros Kattou, together with an interdisciplinary medical team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, and psychologists in Cyprus, developed the **FNON concept** (functional network stimulation) and first brought it into clinical use in 2023. Since then, the method has been used by doctors worldwide and is continuously developed further scientifically.

TPS, tDCS, taVNS, CES, EMTT, ESWT, PEMF
Every neurological condition is different – that's why we rely on a broad spectrum of methods that are individually tailored to each patient.
All procedures are non-invasive and generally painless, requiring no surgery or anesthesia. After the treatment cycle at our practice, home therapy with regular follow-up checks is often possible.
Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS)
Short ultrasound pulses specifically stimulate certain brain regions, activate neural networks, and — through effects on stem cell activation and new blood vessel formation — can also provide supportive effects even in more advanced structural changes of the brain.
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT)
Radial shockwave therapy complements our treatment spectrum for spasticity, movement disorders, and chronic pain. Mechanical pressure waves release tension in the tissue and stimulate the body's own regeneration – non-invasive, painless, and without surgery or anesthesia.
Extracorporeal Magnetic Transduction Therapy (EMTT)
EMTT is another non-invasive method in our treatment spectrum that delivers high-frequency magnetic fields directly into deeper tissue layers. It stimulates cellular regeneration processes and blood flow without generating heat – painless and without surgery or anesthesia.
Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation (taVNS)
Gentle electrical impulses at the ear stimulate the vagus nerve. The signals are relayed via the brainstem to various brain regions and activate the parasympathetic nervous system – with measurable effects on the entire body.
Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS)
A weak direct electrical current is applied via electrodes on the scalp to specifically modulate the activity of certain brain regions.
