NEW PATHWAYS FOR YOUR BRAIN

SOZO Brain Center Vienna Neuromodulation

Modern, evidence-based brain therapy — without medication, surgery, or pain.

Our medical team combines decades of clinical experience with the latest neuromodulation techniques to open up new treatment possibilities for people with neurological, psychiatric, and chronic conditions.

What ist Neuromodulation?

Neuromodulation is a modern medical approach that specifically influences neural networks in the brain – through stimulation, inhibition, or synchronization of particular brain regions. The goal is to promote the brain's natural neuroplasticity: its ability to regenerate and rewire itself.

The method is based on more than 30 years of university neurophysiology research. SOZO founder Sir Petros Kattou, together with an interdisciplinary medical team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, and psychologists in Cyprus, developed the **FNON concept** (functional network stimulation) and first brought it into clinical use in 2023. Since then, the method has been used by doctors worldwide and is continuously developed further scientifically.

At SOZO Brain Center Vienna, we apply these procedures according to Sir Petros Kattou's original protocols – individually tailored to each patient.

Our Medical Team – Experience That Counts

Every therapy is individually planned following a thorough neurological examination and functional diagnostics – with a clearly defined treatment plan, standardized progress checks, and adjustments as needed. Our team brings together both solid conventional medical expertise and experience in integrative medicine. Dr. Helmut Retzek serves as Medical Director.

Do You Suffer from Alzheimer's, Depression, Dementia, Parkinson's, or ALS?

Neuromodulation is used for a wide range of neurological, psychiatric, and chronic conditions – with particular focus on complex and difficult-to-treat cases.

Conditions We Treat

  • Parkinson's disease
  • Alzheimer's and dementia
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Neuropathic and chronic pain
  • Autism spectrum disorders
  • ADHD
  • Depression and anxiety disorders
  • PTSD / functional neurological disorders
  • ME/CFS and long COVID with neurological symptoms

For many of these conditions, conventional methods offer only limited therapeutic options. Depending on the individual clinical picture, neuromodulation can open up new, complementary treatment options here. Detailed, thoroughly documented case studies can be found on our Case Studies page.

Our Treatment Methods

TPS, tDCS, taVNS, CES, EMTT, ESWT, PEMF

Every neurological condition is different – that's why we rely on a broad spectrum of methods that are individually tailored to each patient.

All procedures are non-invasive and generally painless, requiring no surgery or anesthesia. After the treatment cycle at our practice, home therapy with regular follow-up checks is often possible.
